Kita in Berlin – Kinderhaus im IBZ

We are a bilingual Montessori Children's House

The Montessori Children’s House in the IBZ is located in Berlin-Wilmersdorf in the International Meeting Center for Science.

Around 30 children between the ages of one and six are currently being looked after.

The opening hours are from 8 am to 5 pm.

The children play and learn in a German-English speaking environment. They are in constant contact with our bilingual staff and are thus introduced to the foreign language in a playful way. A smooth transition to the first class of our bilingual Montessori school is part of the concept.
The support of integrated children is experienced as an enrichment by everyone involved.

Our employees are Montessori teachers with recognized diplomas or are currently in training.

The hot lunch is delivered by an organic catering company. Parents bring breakfast from home. Drinks, fruit and snacks are available to the children at the Kinderhaus.

In information events and seminars, we introduce interested parents to our work and provide impetus for positive changes in everyday parenting.

Bilingual Deutsch Englisch

The German-English Montessori Kinderhaus Wannsee is part of the campus of our International Montessori School (IMS). Around 30 children from the age of 2.5 until they start school can be looked after here. The children’s centre is open from 8 am to 5 pm. The children play and learn in a German-English speaking environment. They are in constant contact with our bilingual teachers and are thus introduced to both languages in a playful way – a natural form of language acquisition. Children from our childcare centres are given preference at the bilingual International Montessori School Berlin (IMS).The same applies to siblings who wish to attend the school. (Subject to the availability of places.) In addition to the International Montessori School Berlin, the Wannsee-Schule e.V. is also our co-operation partner.

Our premises

The rooms are geared towards the needs, size and strength of the children. They are designed so that each child can pursue their interests individually or in groups. Covering over 200 square meters on two floors, we have plenty of space for movement and spacious areas for building, painting and handicrafts. The children can also retreat to a cuddle or book corner and relax.

Here, every child can pursue their interests individually or in groups and choose from a variety of play and work materials. We have plenty of space to be active.
The garden invites you to plant and tend the flowers together. In the bright and sunny playground, the children have plenty of space to run around and splash around in the water in summer.

Our daily routine

The daily routine at the Kinderhaus is determined by free work in the mornings.

Before lunch, we come together in a circle and discuss what is currently on the children’s minds. We read books, make music and have fun together.

In the early afternoon, it’s time to get some fresh air in the garden or let off steam in the nearby playgrounds in Volkspark.

Finally, the kindergarten day ends harmoniously with refreshments and a game.

On Tuesdays, we regularly do sports in a nearby sports hall. Friday is our excursion day: sometimes we go to the theater, sometimes to a museum or into the forest. Sometimes we also visit each other at home.
