Kita in Berlin – Kinderhaus Lichtenberg
We are a bilingual Montessori Children's House
The bilingual Montessori Kinderhaus Lichtenberg is located at Mole 3, near Ostkreuz. We look after up to 60 children aged 1-6 years in three groups (one nest group, two elementary groups).
We are open for the children from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm.
The children play and learn in a German-English speaking environment. They are in constant contact with our immersion specialists and are thus introduced to the foreign language in a playful way.
A smooth transition to the first class of our bilingual Montessori school is part of the concept.
Our staff are Montessori teachers (m/f/d) or are currently training for their diploma. Hot lunches are provided by an organic catering company.
We organise information events and seminars to give interested parents an understanding of our work and encourage positive changes in everyday parenting.
Our daily activities include:
- Enabling sustainable sensory experiences
- Developing an awareness of nature and the environment
- Preparing motivating play and learning opportunities with plenty of space for free movement
Traditions, rituals but also new impulses from the digital world offer us constantly changing possibilities.
The Kinderhaus takes part in the state programme ‘Kitas bewegen – für die gute gesunde Kita’.
Bilingual Deutsch Englisch
The German-English Montessori Kinderhaus Wannsee is part of the campus of our International Montessori School (IMS). Around 30 children from the age of 2.5 until they start school can be looked after here. The children’s centre is open from 8 am to 5 pm. The children play and learn in a German-English speaking environment. They are in constant contact with our bilingual teachers and are thus introduced to both languages in a playful way – a natural form of language acquisition. Children from our childcare centres are given preference at the bilingual International Montessori School Berlin (IMS).The same applies to siblings who wish to attend the school. (Subject to the availability of places.) In addition to the International Montessori School Berlin, the Wannsee-Schule e.V. is also our co-operation partner.

Our childcare centres in Berlin are senate-funded. This means that we require a valid day-care centre voucher (part-time or all-day care) from your local district authority to enrol your child.
In addition, we offer special services in all our childcare centres that are not funded by the Berlin Senate via the vouchers (Montessori pedagogy with appropriate specialist staff, organic lunch and snack).
We charge a monthly fee for these services, which must be paid by the parents. If you are interested in a place for your child at the Kinderhaus, please complete the application form.
If you are interested in a place for your child at one of our day-care centers (Maria Montessori called this environment Casa dei Bambini – Children’s House), please apply by completing the application form.
If we are able to offer your child a place, the management of your chosen Children’s House will contact you directly to arrange an appointment for an introductory meeting.
